Volunteer/Ministry
Opportunities
The ministry of Doors of
Hope depends on volunteers who have responded
to the leading of the
Lord.There are many opportunities for service and
everyone who
desires to help can find a way to do so. Volunteer
training is provided.
Peer Counselor
Provides one-on-one peer
counseling at the Center. Each peer counselor volunteers
4 hours one day a week
at the Center. New volunteer training of 5 -3 hour
sessions is required as
vital preparation.
Prayer Ministry
Intercedes for
counselors, individual clients, finances of the center and
its needs in general.
Does not require coming
to the Center, but becoming familiar with the Center
and the individuals
involved would be beneficial in prayer support.
Volunteer
Receptionist
Performs general front
office duties, answering the phone and greeting the
clients.
This position requires 4
hours one day a week. Training is provided.
Mommy Store
Assists with overall
maintenance which includes sorting and laundering
of clothes as they are
donated to the Center, and the displaying and
straightening of
clothes, toys, furniture items, etc.
Church Representative
Acts as a liaison
between the local pastor, the church and the center
keeping
them updated as to
programs, events and needs.
Special Projects
Helps with special
projects and fund raising events. Examples: Help prepare
bulk mailings
and newsletters, helpers
for the annual dinner/dessert auction, walk for life, baby
bottle campaigns, booths
at special events, and other events.
P.A.S.S
Leads small groups of
women suffering from post-abortion syndrome through a
twelve
week Bible study to
promote help and healing. Requirement: Must have attended
a
P.A.S.S. study as a
participant prior to leading a group.
Volunteer nurses and
sonographers
Provide limited
ultrasounds and verification of pregnancy when the Center
begins to offer these
services. Training will be provided. |
